Daryl Traylor is a remarkable non-traditional first-year medical student at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine. At 51 years old, Daryl has embarked on a new and exciting challenge in his life, and he strongly identifies with other non-traditional students who are pursuing new academic and career paths. Daryl's diverse career has included service in the US Army Reserve, Oklahoma Army National Guard, and Oklahoma Air National Guard. He has also served as a university and community college educator, teaching community and public health, pathophysiology, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology. Daryl has also conducted research on HIV, preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP), COVID, and cancer biology, making significant contributions to the field of health. With a solid educational foundation from Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University, Daryl has earned bachelor's degrees in microbiology and community health promotion, dual master's degrees in pharmacology and public health from Michigan State University, and a PhD in nursing from the University of Missouri. His extensive educational background has equipped him with a wealth of knowledge and expertise that he brings to his work as a medical student. Daryl's passion for working with students and mentees is evident in everything he does. He strongly believes that every individual has the potential to achieve their goals through hard work, dedication, motivation, and desire. As he pursues his long-term goal of pursuing an Emergency Medicine residency, Daryl continues to inspire and motivate others to pursue their dreams. Daryl's warm and inviting personality makes him a natural mentor and leader, and he has become a valuable member of the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine community. Eboni is a compassionate and dedicated health professional who mentors and advises individuals pursuing careers in the health professions, STEM graduate programs, or behavioral health graduate programs. With over two decades of experience in the healthcare industry, Eboni has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the fields of public health, health professions education, case management, and counseling. Eboni believes that each student is capable of reaching their goals through hard work, belief in their vision, and effort. She strives to partner with her students as she helps guide them to their academic and career goals. Her love for working with students has been a constant source of motivation throughout her career. Eboni's educational background is impressive and well-rounded, with three master's degrees and a doctoral degree in Health Education from A.T. Still University-College of Graduate Health Studies. Her educational journey has equipped her with a unique set of skills and knowledge that have proven invaluable in her career. Throughout her impressive career, Eboni has worked tirelessly to promote social justice and health equity. As an emerging professional and voting member of the Southwest Region IX Health Equity Council, she spearheaded numerous initiatives to improve health outcomes for marginalized communities in the Southwestern United States. Currently, Eboni is an assistant professor and Director of Community Oriented Primary Care (COPC) with the A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine, Arizona. Her research and teaching interests include social justice & health disparities, the science & art of resilience, HIV/AIDS & aging, LGBT+ community, healthcare coordination, community health, integrative health, interprofessional education (IPE), and community-campus partnerships for health. Eboni's 20+ years of public and behavioral health research, mentoring, advising, teaching undergraduate and graduate students are a testament to her unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of individuals and communities. Her dedication and passion for her work are an inspiration to those around her, and she continues to make a significant impact in the lives of those she serves. Eboni's warm and inviting personality, coupled with her wealth of knowledge and experience, make her an invaluable resource for anyone seeking guidance in pursuing their academic and career goals.
